How Much Does it Cost?

Bulk-billed services

BMC bulk-bills children’s scheduled immunisations, WorkCover and Veteran’s Affairs appointments, and most GP Management Plans, Team Care Arrangements, and Mental Health Treatment Plans. That means you assign your Medicare rebate to your doctor and we accept that as full payment at a discount to our regular fees.

Pensioner discounts

We offer a substantial discount for pensioners whose appointments are not one of the types we bulk-bill. You can save on costs by coming for Management Plan checkups when they are due.

Standard fees and gaps

Fees vary according to the duration and complexity of your time with your doctor, and whether additional services such as ECG, lung testing or freezing of skin spots is required. Standard fees are at or below AMA-recommended rates. You can claim a rebate from Medicare on-the-spot.

Ways to pay

We accept Cash, Credit Card and Debit card and we can process your Medicare rebate straight away via either Debit Card back into a cheque or savings account or electronically into your bank account. We currently still accept a cheque for payment until such time as banks no longer accept them.

We also accept EFTPOS, cash, and cheques. Established patients may pay only the “gap” and bring us the Medicare rebate cheque when it arrives; or take an account and pay later – there is an account-keeping fee for this.
